Surface Finishing Services
Every Finish Your
Spec Sheet Requires.
Surface finishing is a critical step in most aerospace and defense component programs — affecting corrosion resistance, hardness, wear resistance, electrical conductivity, and cosmetic appearance. Delta coordinates all required surface treatments through our network of AS9100-approved processors, managing the complete workflow so your parts move seamlessly from machining to finishing to final inspection without you managing another supplier.
All finishing operations are performed by approved processors within our AS9100 Rev D supply chain. Process certifications, thickness measurements, and conformance records are collected and retained for every lot — ready to include in your shipment documentation or quality audit package.

Finishes That Meet
Your Spec. Every Lot.
Surface finishing requirements vary widely across aerospace, defense, and industrial OEM programs. Delta's approved processor network supports the full range of military and commercial specifications:
- Anodize (Type II): MIL-A-8625 Type II for general corrosion protection on aluminum structural components
- Hard Anodize (Type III): MIL-A-8625 Type III for wear-resistant surfaces on hydraulic and actuator components
- Chromate Conversion: MIL-DTL-5541 Class 1A/3 for corrosion protection and paint adhesion on aluminum
- Passivation: ASTM A967 / AMS 2700 for stainless steel components requiring maximum corrosion resistance
- Heat Treatment: Per AMS specifications for stress relief, aging, annealing, and solution treatment — with furnace certifications
Finishing is coordinated as part of our supply chain management workflow. Parts flow from machining to the finishing processor and return to us for final CMM inspection before documentation is assembled and the order ships. You never need to touch the parts between processes.
